There is travel disruption on a main road in Ryde this morning (Monday) where a car has collided with a parked vehicle.
Police are on scene at East Hill Road in response to a red Hyundai i10 having collided with a silver Honda Civic.
The 2 elderly female occupants – and a dog – have escaped any injury.
The incident happened shortly before 09:45.
Southern Vectis’ Island Coaster service is currently unable to pass the scene and is therefore delayed.

Who let the dog drive?
Maybe they should have let the dog drive
Dogs would have the decency to wait for
oncoming traffic, unlike Numpty motorists.
Whenever I drive up Easthill Road due to vehicles
at the top of the road being parked outside the
apartments other motorists “do not wait”
therefore making Easthill Road dangerous for everyone.
it’s about time IW Council placed Double Yellow Lines
at the top of Easthill Road to make the road safe.
Because we cannot rely on motorists playing ball
the council need to put in safety measures.
These vehicles should park in the grounds of the
apartments.
Completely agree.
Every day when out and about driving, even
though I stick to the legal limit, some
arsehole is up my arse.
Stricter rules are much needed, Police need to
drive around in unmarked vehicles, they would
have a field day catching all the law breaking
Numpty’s.
Was the dog restrained in the car and if not did it contribute to the crash, last week i saw one stupid woman driving in Ryde with a fairly large dog in her lap sticking its head out of her window.
I have see idiots in open backed vans and
Quad bikes etc with dogs not restrained.
We need more law and order on our roads
there are too many Numpty’s driving around.
There are, but inconsiderate parking only adds to it.
Don’t get me started on inconsiderate
parking.
I could write a book on that subject.
Pavement parking and parking on
double yellow lines etc etc.
You only have to go along Regent Street, Shanklin
and outside Sandown pier to name a few lawless
hotspots.
IW Council Civil Enforcement Officers seem to only
care about persons who park a few minutes over their allocated time, rather than targeting the real law breakers.
