Police on the Isle of Wight are investigating 2 break-ins at separate pharmacies in Ryde and Newport overnight.
It was around 01:00 this morning (Friday) that Police responded to the Esplanade in Ryde following reports of a break-in at Jhoots pharmacy.
Officers arrived on scene to find the front door window smashed in.
In Newport, another break-in has occurred at Day Lewis pharmacy on the High Street.
It appears a brick has been used to smash through the glass door at the front of the commercial premises.
The hole left behind has now been boarded up and Police have left the scene.
Investigations into the double break-ins is underway, but it is too early at this stage to know if the incidents are connected.
It was only on Tuesday morning that Boots Pharmacy at Rink Road, Ryde was broken into with a quantity of medication stolen.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has been approached for a statement, with further information expected as the day progresses.
UPDATE @ 11:53 – Police have confirmed that they were called at 00:07 this morning to Jhoots Pharmacy in Ryde, with reports of 3 men acting suspiciously.
Island Echo understands all 3 men were then seen walking up Union Street.
In what is currently being treated as an unconnected incident, Police say they also responded to Day Lewis Pharmacy at 04:11 this morning.
Investigations into both incidents are ongoing at this time.
No arrests have been made.

UPDATE SATURDAY – Police have confirmed that they have made 2 separate arrests in connection with the break-ins at Ryde and Newport.
