A 44-year-old man from Newport and a 31-year-old man from Ryde have both been arrested in connection with separate pharmacy break-ins in Ryde and Newport.
The break-ins both occurred during the early hours of yesterday morning (Friday), as first reported by Island Echo, with entry forced to Jhoots Pharmacy on Esplanade, Ryde and Day Lewis Pharmacy on High Street, Newport.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that a 31-year-old man from Ryde has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in relation to the Jhoots break-in. He remains in custody at this time.
Island Echo understands the arrest came after a bag of medication and needles was located at an address in Ryde.
It has also been confirmed that a 44-year-old man has been arrested, and bailed, on suspicion of burglary in connection with the Day Lewis break-in.
Police say medication was stolen during the Newport incident.
Investigations continue.
