Residents at Orchard House enjoyed a very special visit from Daphne and Geraldine, two donkeys from the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary.
The Bluebell Garden was filled with excitement as residents, their relatives and members of staff came together to meet the two gentle visitors. Everyone had the opportunity to stroke the donkeys, spend time with them and enjoy this memorable experience.
Following the visit, Orchard House has decided to adopt and support two donkeys from the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary this year. Residents will be involved in choosing which 2 donkeys the home will support, with their names to be revealed soon.
Emma Sutton, Deputy Manager at Orchard House, said:
“It was absolutely wonderful to welcome Daphne and Geraldine to Orchard House. Seeing our residents, their families and our team enjoying such a special experience together was fantastic. The donkeys brought so many smiles to everyone.
“We are also very excited that our residents will choose two donkeys for Orchard House to adopt and support this year. It gives us a lovely connection with the sanctuary and something for our residents to be involved in and look forward to.”
