CYCLIST AND PEDESTRIAN INJURED IN ZEBRA CROSSING COLLISION

A woman has been injured at a zebra crossing after being hit by a passing cyclist in Shanklin this morning (Thursday).

The incident has taken place on Landguard Manor Road outside Lidl, where 2 ambulances and Police are in attendance.

The male cyclist – who was riding a professional racing bike – is understood to have sustained injuries to his face. He is to be conveyed to hospital shortly.

Meanwhile The injured pedestrian has already been taken to St Mary’s Hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be serious.

The road was closed for a time but has since re-opened.
