There are delays on the main road between Newport and Sandown this Friday afternoon as a result of a crash at Hale Common, outside The Fighting Cocks.
Emergency services have been called to the collision outside Wight Salads near the junction with Watery Lane on the A3056.
The incident occurred at around 14:40 and has involved 2 cars, a Hyundai crash into the side of an Audi. It is unclear at this time as to how exactly the 2 cars collided with one another.
UPDATE @ 15:30 – The road remains open but traffic in the area is extremely heavy, with vehicles heading eastbound backing up to Horringford.
UPDATE @ 16:10 – Both vehicles have now been cleared from the carriageway, allowing the free flow of traffic once again.
No serious injuries have been sustained.
