CRASH INVOLVING AT LEAST 3 VEHICLES BLOCKS MAIN ROAD IN RYDE

A road traffic collision (RTC) involving multiple vehicles is blocking a main road in Ryde this lunchtime (Saturday). The accident has involved at least 3 vehicles including an Audi, a Citroen and a Mini. The airbags on the French car have been deployed. East Hill Road is currently blocked, with officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary at the scene. A road closure has been put in place, with traffic diverting locally via West Hill Road. Island Echo understands that no serious injuries have been sustained. Motorists are advised to avoid the area for the time being until the accident is cleared.
