I was there to witness this, a man was following a group of teens with clenched fists and intimidating them because of one comment made by a young boy. Not only is this ‘victim’ old enough to know they should walk away from any violence , but definitely old enough to know you shouldn’t approach a group of youngsters appearing as a threat and expecting nothing of it. Only 1-2 punches were thrown and the ‘victim ‘ was walking around absolutely fine until the police arrived.silly If you ask me, no one stopped to ask if the young group were okay when being threatened by this man, but only when they acted upon it. And he was not ‘rushed’ to hospital he was sat there for about an hour talking and walking fine to the paramedics.
Goes to show, you can’t always believe what you read in the press.
No , that explanation and your comment goes to show that you both expect people to have to put up with abuse from a gobby low life who would not dare say such if not in a gang.
What do we just accept from scum? Verbal, being spat on, deliberately knocked into, kicking your dog, damaging your property, threatening you etc?
I think he should be seen as a hero
You shouldn’t put up with abuse. But you’re also not a justice system who can dish out punishments on their own accord. You should call the police.
And if police doesn’t have enough numbers to respond – you should vote out politicians who allowed police to be a mess. And if you think justice system isn’t giving out harsh enough punishments… well, guess who makes the law? That’s right, MPs again.
In my country we have a “city guard” – far less power than police but ideal for things like that. And they love to give out tickets for small things, from bad parking to using swear words in public cause it’s so much money for them!
So it can be solved systematically and there’s no excuse to go vigilante.
You’re saying ‘low life’s’ are walking around threatening people but these are two teenagers who were being threatened by a 50 year old man And defended themselves Saying he’s a hero is absolutely ridiculous.
Thank you, now we don’t have to read tiresome comments about the island going to rack and ruin because of mainlander scum, benefit scum, druggie scum, foreign scum etc.
I hope you have been to the police with this witness statement, so the kids don’t get criminalised for looking after themselves
No, they assaulted someone. That’s a criminal offence by any standards. It doesn’t matter what the precursor was.Probably because in this country now, there’s no such thing as ‘consequeces of actions’ in our schools …
So you’re saying if your child was being threatened and intimidated they shouldn’t stick up for themself against an older , much stronger adult? Silly Martin, if that was my child I would just be glad they didn’t get kidnapped or anything as no one knows what his intentions were.
What a wally! So some soft lad in his 50s got some lip from a gang of youths and then decided that the best response was to pick a fight with a gang of younger and fitter young fellas. Well he got what he deserved. We were all young once and we know that some young fellas are full of themselves, and often mouthy. The best response to cheek is a put down, which is not difficult with young fellas, and it is easy to humiliate them in front of their mates. But don’t go picking a fight with a gang. Obviously!
