Police are working to identify 2 teenagers who are wanted in connection with an assault in Cowes High Street yesterday evening (Tuesday).
Emergency services were called to reports of an incident on the High Street, outside White Stuff, at 18:50.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service responded and treated a man in his 50s for minor facial injuries. It is alleged he was assaulted.
Police erected a cordon around the area where the assault took place, which remained in place late last night.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has this morning said that 2 males – described as being teenage – are thought to have carried out the attack.
Enquiries remain ongoing at this time.

With the amount of teenagers creating havoc in the UK perhaps National Service needs to be brought back those caught might then actually contributing to the Human Race instead of trying to destroy it.
Get them fit and healthy, train them to fight and use firearms and then just put them back on the street with all their new talents, don’t think that would be much of a benefit to society to be honest.

Considering that the violent crime rate amongst ex services personnel is higher than the rate for the general population, then I doubt that is a good idea.

We used to have a visible police presence in Cowes with the Safer Neighbourhoods Team.
Thanks to the Tory cuts to policing budget, there is no longer a police station in Cowes or a proper policing team. That’s the reason assaults like this are on the rise, anti-social behaviour is a real problem in most towns on the Island as we have pretty much zero police on foot now.

When caught, nothing will happen to them of consequence. Name and shame them, their idiot parents and then send them on a one way ticket to Rwanda for a year. They can make their own way back given they are so hard, they shouldn’t have much of a problem crossing Africa and Europe on foot.
