A Police cordon has been erected and someone has been rushed to hospital following an altercation that occurred on a residential street in Freshwater this morning (Saturday).
It is believed that the incident – which occurred on High Street – took place before 07:00 this morning with a large number of Police cars seen responding to a residential address.
Shortly after arriving, officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary erected a cordon on the road between the junctions with Golden Ridge and The Old Smithy, whilst they investigated what had occurred.
Paramedics from Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were also rushed to the scene.
Island Echo understands that at least 1 casualty was taken to St Mary’s Hospital after being treated at the scene.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have been approached for a comment with further update expected later today.
