A man who was convicted in 2004 for the brutal killing of an Isle of Wight taxi driver has been recalled to prison following a breach of his lifetime license.
Lee Arnold, 37, of Kestrel Way in Newport, appeared before Isle of Wight Magistrates this afternoon (Tuesday) following an accusation of assault.
The court heard that Arnold, who was released from prison in 2014 after serving almost 10 years of a life sentence for the 2003 murder of 56-year-old taxi driver Paul Rosenburg, was involved in an altercation at a teepee camping site after attempting to get in his vehicle whilst apparently drunk.
Liam Hunter, prosecuting, told Magistrates that the victim of the assault had challenged Arnold after hearing an altercation coming from the defendant’s area of the mainland campsite and witnessing him attempt to get in his car.
The victim snatched the keys from Arnold resulting in him shouting at her and pushing her.
It was heard at the time of the murder trial in the early 2000s that Arnold pushed his ex-girlfriend to the floor following a row in a Newport nightclub before the attack on Mr Rosenburg in Cowes.
Arnold, who was just 19 when he beat Mr Rosenburg to death, was made subject to a standard license recall. He will remain in prison until parole is granted once again.
Arnold was given a 3-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £22 surcharge for this most recent assault.

He had the gall to stay on the Island. Unbelievable.
See ya again in bout 8-10 years mate! ✌️
Why was he released after just 10 years for murder .Lock the scum up for life.
People like this make a good argument for the death sentence.
Yet again a life sentence doesn’t even come close to being life and how many of these so called lifers, re-offend when released?
Let a violent murderer out of a life sentence after less than 10yrs = little respect for the murdered victim and family, plus increased likelihood of further offences.
‘Life’ my a*se.
Well depending on your age those old enough will remember “Dirty Den” from Eastenders ,actor Lesley Grantham was convicted of shooting dead a taxi driver in West Germany whilst trying to rob the driver in 1966.Grantham served 10 years in prison and in later years he became an actor . I wonder if Echo readers would have the same opinion as to want to bring back the death sentence for “Dirty Den” !!!!!!
Liberal lefty snowflake comes to mind reading your comment, why don’t you tell that to the poor taxi drivers loved ones….you have no right to justify that scums evils..

victim will never be released from death
therefore perpetrator should never be released from jail until dead.
If you take a life you should serve life. End of.
Victims are not served justice by our current court system. Over and over again released violent criminals reoffend.
When will the Home Secretary cotton on to this and put forward new sentencing guidelines.
Life should mean LIFE .
Can’t help but agree, violent offenders deserve the harshest punishments possible, and i think there should be a Violent Offenders Register, just like the Sex Offenders Register. Society needs to start stigmatizing these kind of offenders as strongly as possible.
Born scum and will die scum. Too many do gooders defending scum. That is why British society has gone the way it has. Anyone with even half a brain cell can see that.
