igures released by the Office for National Statistics today (Wednesday) show a continued fall in the amount of people claiming the unemployment benefit Jobseekers Allowance on the Isle of Wight.
During July, 1,624 people were claiming JSA across the Island, a fall of 131 compared to June of this year. Year on year, July 2014 has seen a massive drop in claimants from 2,795 in July 2013.
Although the Island still has 2% of the resident population aged 16-64 claiming JSA, it falls 0.4% under the UK as a whole, but 0.6% more than the rest of the South East.
