Patients of Tower House Dental Clinic in Ryde face an uncertain future as the owners try to find suitable premises for the practice to relocate to.
Island Echo understands that the business’ current lease has already expired and it is, therefore, unclear on what basis they continue to occupy the building, which is owned by the doctor’s surgery.
The dental practice continues to book appointments for the future despite uncertainty about where they will be trading from moving forward. There has been some suggestion that the practice may move to the High Street in Wootton.
The news comes amid a widespread dental crisis on the Island, as previously reported by Island Echo.
A number of patients have enjoyed the convenience of the current location as they are also registered with the Tower House Surgery in the same building, with Boots Pharmacy also located at Tower House. However, Island Echo understands that the surgery needs the space currently occupied by the dental practice so has not renewed the lease.
Island Echo has approached both Tower House Dental Clinic and Tower House Surgery for comment but has not yet received a response.

They’re moving to Wooton. The former plumbing showroom next to terrys chip shop. They told me when I took my son for treatment.
Here we go again!! Where is our so called MP when we need him. This is not the first time that the island has had a dentist crisis. About time the government stopped treating us like second class citizens and helped to provide us with good medical access.
I’ve spoken to Rishi and he’s in the process of acquiring a magic dental wand to ensure everybody’s dental needs are met. Trust me.
The Tories want to make the rest of the NHS like the dental service. Think about that for a second, image that it is as hard and expensive to get to see a doctor as it is to see a dentist. That is our future. And it is being driven by hand outs from US lobby groups lobbying for the US medical insurance companies. 20 years time will be no NHS and we’ll be back to the 40’s where a piggy bank is used to save some pennies in case you need to see the doctor.
Clearly every dingy occupant and every other stowaway and every one of the numerous offspring born from them for every onwards will add to the burdens on the NHS and dental problems, along with housing shortages and extra demands on energy, water, waste, education and prisons.
Yet not one high profile person dare say so. So we skirt around the real issue hence time adds to the problem
20 years’ time? Already there is no money left for patients care but doctors tell us they can’t manage on £3K per month and demand a bigger slice. The only way now is down.
Of course, if we had a functional NHS which employed both GPs and dentists this couldn’t happen.
Obviously a silly idea.
Empty buildings are much more common than dentists over here so can’t see a problem.
I can sort all ur teeth with one shot yeah
U arcus cleaners are just odd
How come as the Island gradually gets cemented over are these people going to go locally to see a Doctor ???? Yet they still keep building ? As we gradually become more & more overcrowded & the problems associated with that becomes intolerable.
