Solent Coastguard tasked Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team to reports of a concern for welfare near the South Coast of the Island this morning (Friday).
Coastguard Rescue Officers were called at 10:52 to support the Hampshire Constabulary after concerns were raised for individual in the Blackgang area.
A search was carried out near to Gore Cliff between Blackgang and Niton, but with no further information received teams were stood down from the incident at around 14:00 – 3 hours after the search began.
