Police and HM Coastguard are in attendance at a clifftop incident at Culver Down near Bembridge this morning (Saturday).
Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor are currently working on the Southern side of the beauty spot, where equipment has been set up to lower a cliff man over the edge.
Sandown & Shanklin Independent Lifeboat has launched and is currently working alongside their emergency service colleagues, who are located at the top of the cliff overlooking Sandown Bay.
The incident began shortly before 08:00.
At Yaverland, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are in attendance with 3 fire appliances, 1 ambulance and an operational commander present.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have been approached for a statement.
UPDATE @ 12:18 – Police have confirmed that a woman has died after her car went onto the cliff edge earlier today.
