UPDATED: Emergency services are responding to a road traffic collision on Forest Road between Newport and Shalfleet this morning (Friday).
A black Volkswagen is said to have left the carriageway and come to rest in amongst the trees on the outside of a bend.
The road is obstructed on one side of the road by a tree.
Southern Vectis say their 08:48 Route 7 bus from Shalfleet is currently unable to proceed.
UPDATE @ 09:50 – Island Roads have confirmed that the road has been closed in both directions to allow for the clearance of the fallen tree.
Southern Vectis Route 7 buses will be diverting via Middle Road and Elm Lane until further notice.
1 male has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
UPDATE @ 11:18 – Forest Road/Yarmouth Road has now re-opened.
