A car has caught fire on Coppins Bridge, Newport this evening (Monday) leading to delays in the area.
One pumping appliance from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has responded to the scene just 300 metres from Newport Fire Station, where a Vauxhall Zafira has been damaged by fire.
Police are on scene and traffic is down to one lane, causing delays in and around Newport.
In the last 2 years there have been two other vehicle fires on the Island involving Vauxhall Zafiras in both Shanklin and Ventnor.
