UPDATED: ITV’s hit show Britain’s Got Talent is heading to the Isle of Wight next month when it will be auditioning local talent for the next series.
Producers from the show will be at Trinity Theatre in Cowes on Wednesday 3rd December from 12:30 to 15:30.
Mike Buckett, president of Cowes Amatuer and Opera Drama Society said:
“This is the first time Britain’s Got Talent have used our theatre for their preliminary auditions and we’re delighted to be given the opportunity to showcase our local talented performers”.
Anyone interested in auditioning in the preliminary round should send an email to [email protected] giving their name, contact details, type of act, number of performers and preferred audition time. There is no guarantee anyone turning up unannouced on the day will be seen. Under 18s must have a parent present to sign a consent form.
Mike added:
“We wish everybody who comes along the best of luck.
“What we’d really like is for one of the acts auditioning in Cowes to reach the finals of Britain’s Got Talent. And perhaps when they come back to the island they could perform on our stage again”.
UPDATE WEDNESDAY: Auditions are also set to be held at The Spyglass Inn, Ventnor on Wednesday (3rd December) from 20:30, perfect for those who are unable to make the daytime auditions in Cowes.
Anyone who is wanting to audition must contact [email protected].
Executive Producer, Amelia Brown, said:
“Britain’s Got Talent has an amazing record of celebrating amazing talent and changing people’s lives – from Susan Boyle and Diversity through to Paul Potts, Ashleigh and Pudsey and this year’s winners Collabro. They all took a chance and applied for the show and that’s what we want the people to do this year. We can’t wait to see the talent that the Isle of Wight has to offer.
“These local auditions will run in tandem with the open audition tour which is visiting larger cities across the UK.”
