Police have confirmed that a body found off the west coast of the Isle of Wight last Saturday is that of missing Matthew Doyle.
Mr Doyle went missing at the end of May, prompting a large scale search to be launched. A key witness was then sought as part of the subsequent investigation.
Now, it has been confirmed that the missing person search has been concluded following the discovery of Matthew’s body in the sea.
As previously reported by Island Echo, Yarmouth RNLI were tasked to a position off The Needles last Saturday evening when an object was discovered in the water.
Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the Coroner.
Mr Doyle’s family have been informed and are being supported at this difficult time.

Rest in peace Mathew
