UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are responding to Yarmouth Harbour this morning (Wednesday) where a boat on fire is being towed to the quayside.
The Foam Salvage Tender from East Cowes, an appliance from Newport and an appliance from the West Wight are all attending the incident which is also involving Yarmouth RNLI, who launched their all weather lifeboat at just gone 11:10.
The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team are also on scene.
The fire service were alerted to the fire on board a 7.8m boat at just before 11:20.
UPDATE @ 11:55 – The fire on board the currently unknown vessel has been brought under control.
No one is thought to have been injured and there are no reports of any pollution.
UPDATE @ 12:20 – The Maritime and Coastguard Agency have confirmed that an engine fire broke out on the vessel ‘Dolly D’ at just before 11:00, which was towed into Yarmouth Harbour by the harbour master with an RNLI escort.
The vessel was met by Needles CRT and the fire service. Emergency crews have now left the scene.
