A man in his 50s who allegedly stabbed his wife in the neck and killed the family dog at their home in Binstead remains in hospital some 6 weeks after the incident.
It was on 20th June that Armed Police were deployed to an address on Newnham Road, where a woman in her 50s was discovered bleeding profusely with a stab wound to her neck – described as serious head injuries. A dog was found deceased at the property.
Officers closed down the usually quiet residential street and surrounded the detached chalet bungalow, calling for a man to place down a weapon.
The suspect was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder and taken directly to hospital, where Police are thought to have been keeping a 24-hour guard beside his bed ever since.
Forensic investigators spent several days at the bloody crime scene in a bid to piece together the events of that Monday morning.
Once released from hospital, the suspect will be quizzed by detectives and the custody clock will begin.

Evil jerk. Its because of people like him the island is in such a state.
Shame he didn’t die too. Now is going to cost us all to keep it in prison for a few months.
Attempted murder? So the lady survived ? and why was he taken to hospital and under 24 hr bed watch ?
Because he turned the knife on himself
So she says.
False information he hasn’t even been questioned by police and there is certainly no 24 hour police guard

Beast. Now we have to fund his Zoo time.
