Plans for a new Premier store bordering Carisbrooke and Newport have been submitted to the Isle of Wight Council.
Under the plans, a small part of the existing showroom at Carisbrooke Garage – part of the Sixers motor group – could be turned into a convenience store.
Mr Vinojan – the owner of multiple Premier stores on the Island – is seeking permission to open his latest store on the site which has been a garage for over 25 years. The new store will be located not far from another store at Clarendon Place.
The proposal sets out to utilise an undeveloped area of the existing garage for the use of a convenience store within the existing envelope of the building.
Up to 10 car parking spaces will be created to the front of the premises with the proposed store opening times to be between the hours of 07:00 and 23:00.
The public have until 24th June to appeal the plans with the final decision from the Isle of Wight Council due on 7th July.

The death knell for any just about existing private shops nearby.
Mr Vinojan also owns the nearby existing shop. Great Comment LOL
So, none then?
What private shops?
They will have to put double yellow lines down for that stretch of road as it’s bad enough now….
