ARREST MADE AFTER MAN SEEN WAVING KNIVES IN THE AIR NEAR MCDONALD’S

A 27-year-old man from Sandown has been arrested by Police for possession of an offensive weapon after he was allegedly seen waving knives in the air outside a fast-food restaurant in Ryde this morning (Friday). Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to Brading Road at around 09:50 following reports that a man had been seen with a knife outside McDonald’s. Island Echo understands that the male was waving the sharp implements in the air. Having located the male, he was searched and 2 knives were found in his possession. The 27-year-old from Sandown was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He remains in custody at this time.
