There is yet more disruption for those crossing the Solent with Red Funnel today (Tuesday) as the operator cancels a number of vehicle ferry sailings once again.
The 04:30 and 07:30 sailings from Southampton have been pulled alongside the 06:00 and 09:00 sailings from East Cowes.
The cross-Solent operator has cancelled these sailings as they were due to be operated using Red Osprey. The vessel is running on reduced engine power to keep the vessel limping along, meaning it cannot cope with adverse weather as well as its sister ships.
Red Osprey is expected to go into drydock shortly with engineers expecting significant work on the vessel’s engines. A 3-boat service is not expected to resume until the end of March 2025.
Red Funnel apologises for any inconvenience.
UPDATE @ 09:17 – Red Funnel has now cancelled the 10:30 from Southampton and the 12:00 from East Cowes.
Ffs. Just put Falcon on the early sailings! That’s two days running they’ve failed to act.
