The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been tasked to the Isle of Wight for the 3rd time today (Wednesday), landing in Sandown once again.
The helicopter landed shortly after 18:10, touching down at Sandown & Lake Football Club.
Onboard doctors and paramedics, who took off from Thruxton shortly before 17:55, are thought to be attending a medical emergency nearby.
This morning, the Air Ambulance landed at Fort Street in Sandown and by lunchtime was attending another emergency in Seaview having returned to the mainland in between those 2 incidents.
UPDATE @ 19:10 – The Air Ambulance has left the scene and returned to the mainland without conveying any patient.

Thank you to the crew who continue to strive to serve and save us island residents. It costs so much to run your service but in times of crisis this is priceless. Some might say “wasted trips” when no terminal outcome is announced but I say “thank goodness for a (hopefully) great outcome and no loss of life” but it’s great to know the service responded and was there to support if needed xx
Well said. We are so lucky to have this service.
Top people doing a great job, just a shame we can’t have our own one stationed here to speed things up.
Amazing service, well done and thankyou for the care you all give to the public.
shame our useless hospital can’t sort this out..just shows how crap it is now..
