The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been scrambled to an ongoing medical emergency in Bembridge this afternoon (Thursday).
Emergency service personnel were first notified of the incident at around 13:40.
The helicopter landed in Forelands Fields at around 13:50 after making the short journey across the East Wight. It didn’t take long for flying doctors to reach the village as they were already on the Island at an event at Havenstreet Steam Railway.
They have been joined on-scene by blue light colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, including the Enhanced Care Paramedic, at The Crab and Lobster Inn.
UPDATE @ 14:55 – The Air Ambulance has taken off from Bembridge and has since conveyed the patient – a woman – to Southampton General Hospital.
It’s understood she suffered a medical episode whilst visiting the popular pub at lunchtime.
Second para: change “noted” to “notified”
With somebody potentially fighting for their life, this is your contribution. Wow!
Well said Stuart. Honestly it just gets better and better doesn’t it
Stuart you are a idiot and your stupid comments you post on here doesn’t help your point
“An idiot”, simpleton.
Stuart I’ve found your pecker at last
I bet your partner has more trouble finding yours!
Best like a attention seeking child. Totally ignore it then eventually it gives up
Stuart most off comments are just wrong maybe you should take your pecker and go
I think you meant to say most “of” comments, you child! You can’t even string a simple sentence together.
Without Southampton and Portsmouth Hospitals this island would be fcuked!
should that be “fucked”?
I’ve suffered many a medical episode after visiting the popular pub at lunchtime. Think it is called being inebriated.
What was the outcome please? We saw all three medical units turn up…
I too would like to know what was the outcome as my partner and I were there when it all unfolded
She was the person who actually gave CPR until the paramedics came….
If anyone knows please leave a reply
Thank you
