UPDATED: The Thames Valley Air Ambulance has been called to assist with a medical emergency at Steephill Cove in Ventnor this morning (Saturday).
Local paramedics requested the attendance of specialist doctors shortly before 09:00, with the yellow and red helicopter landing in nearby Ventnor Park a short while later.
Island Echo understands that someone has suffered a medical episode in the remote beauty spot.
UPDATE @ 11:24 – A man has been flown to a mainland hospital by the helimed crew.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were called to Steephill at 07:18 this morning, with 2 ambulances dispatched.
