Red Funnel and Hovertravel have announced cancellations to their cross-Solent services this afternoon (Wednesday) as strong winds and rain hit the Isle of Wight.
At lunchtime, Hovertravel suspended its Ryde to Southsea passenger service as a result of the adverse conditions.
Now, Red Funnel has confirmed that it has cancelled 6 of its hi-speed Red Jet sailings between West Cowes and Southampton.
The 15:35, 16:45 and 17:55 services from Southampton have been cancelled as well as the 16:10, 17:20 and 18:30 crossings from West Cowes.
UPDATE @ 16:33 – Red Funnel have announced that the Red Jet service will return to timetable from 16:45 from Southampton and 17:20 from Cowes.
UPDATE @ 18:30 – Red Funnel have now announced that Red Jet service is suspended until further notice due to adverse weather.
