Hope child is OK but it’s not surprising it happened as it is nightmare around that school at finishing time.

Best wishes to the boy, glad he was ok.

I still think its pretty shameful that our council tax doesn’t cover lollipop patrols anymore. Can’t remember the last time I saw one.

So what happened to the van driver? Did they stop? How fast were they going?

It’s an absolute shambles that the school decided to put a woodland area over the previous school site, where could have been a very suitable and safer drop off zone, the council needs to look into this as a priority. This school is so unsafe for school drop offs. Needs immediate attention. They have all the children lined up each morning all over the pavements and roads, but it’s not the children nor the parents fault, the school have no safe zone like other schools! Thank goodness this young boy was ok and this wasn’t a worse outcome.

When advising on recent planning applications for this area Island Roads have stated they see no difficulty with traffic volumes. Mind you, they did carry out one “survey” during school holidays.
This is only going to get worse until parents walk their kids to school – one “parent” takes his child daily 250yds around the corner in his fart-box.
