A 69-year-old man from Newport has been charged with stealing a car from an address in Carisbrooke on Tuesday night.
A black Ford Mondeo ST was reported stolen at 19:00. It had gone missing from Bowcombe Road.
The vehicle was located by Police later that same evening, at around 23:00, on St George’s Way by the Asda roundabout.
1 person was arrested and taken into custody.
Now, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that Terence Wolfe, of Berry Close in Newport, has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking and driving without insurance.
He has been bailed to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 8th September.
He was in the Island Echo court round up in April for theft.
Hopefully he will get properly punished this time

Permanently taking away someone’s primary method of paying for food, clothing and accommodation, however, will leave them little choice but to commit further crime.
The punishments handed out by the Magistrates are a joke. It’s not their fault; it’s how the law has gone. Soft punishments are never a deterrent.
In 1787, didn’t a young lad from the Island, who stole an apple from a grocer as his family had no food, be charged with theft and deported to Australia on one of the first boats to the New World?
