Emergency services have been called to a 3-car collision on a main road through Arreton this morning (Monday).
Fire appliances from Shanklin and Newport are on scene alongside colleagues from the Police and paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
The road remains open at this time but motorists are warned to expect heavy delays in the area with traffic backed up in both directions.
UPDATE @ 11:37 – The road has now been closed whilst emergency crews tend to the injured and clear debris from the carriageway.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service has stood down 1 appliance from the incident already but retained firefighters from Shanklin are carrying out scene safety.
A Mercedes Sprinter delivery van, a Kia Sportage and a Renault Scenic have all been involved.
UPDATE @ 11:45 – The vehicles have been moved off the carriageway and into the entrance of Arreton Barns.
No one is thought to have been seriously injured in the crash, but paramedics remain on scene checking over a mother and child.
UPDATE @ 11:51 – The scene has been cleared and the road has reopened.

I’m intrigued. A “heavy” delay?
