23-YEAR-OLD MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH COWES STABBING


Police on the Isle of Wight have arrested and questioned a 23-year-old local man in connection with the stabbing of a teenager in Cowes on Tuesday.

As previously reported by Island Echo, at around 00:30 during the early hours of Tuesday morning police received a report that an 18-year-old man had suffered 2 stab wounds to the back in the area around Love Lane and Windmill Close.

The man, from Cowes, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment where his injuries have been described as not life-threatening. He remains in hospital at this time.

As part of detective’s enquiries into the incident, a 23 year-old man from Carisbrooke has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

As of 11:30 (Wednesday) the man remained in custody.
