The votes for the 2026 Isle of Wight local elections have been counted – and the results are in.
Today’s outcome has proven to be a shock for many, particularly for Phil Jordan, who lost his Ryde North West seat and therefore his leadership of the Council to Reform UK’s Reuben Loake.
The Conservatives have been heavily beaten, losing every single seat on the Council bar from 2, with Councillors Matt Price and Ed Blake retaining their seats.
Reform clinched a total of 19 seats, just 1 shy of the 20 needed for a majority. In Shanklin Central, Reform won by just a single vote.
Below you will find each ward listed with the name, party and total votes received for each candidate, alongside the elected member.

Find out who your local councillor is, how and where to vote and the results of previous elections at www.isleofwight.vote - the Island's new hub for all things related to Local and General Elections, brought to you by Island Echo.

Now I wait with baited breath,.. for reform to stop the boats, and get starmer out… As they promised on their election leaflets…
As long as it is not our boats they stop!
Wightlink and Red Funnel do that most days
Lol
If only you would hold your breath.
Try it for an hour.
Why??
Didn’t reform get the landslide victory that you lot claimed they would…
Ahh didums..
Not exactly going to be able to do whatever they want then (not that there’s much they can do in local government)
I’m waiting with baited breath to see which reform councillor on the island resigns first when they realize they can just do what ever they want as they don’t have a majority.
Sounds like sour grapes to me, have a nice day
There’s lots of Labour, Green and LDs supporters weeping salty tears into their cornflakes. I think it’s wonderful.
Not a general election old chap, this is a step on the ladder, and in the right direction, when they win the GE, they will face massive resistance from the entrenched lefties in the public sector.
Millions must go, now there’s a beautiful ambition!
They won’t win a General election
If you do recall the full comment by reform, the things you satte were when they are elected into government , which they will be.
Who ever runs the council I am just so glad that jordan and his cromies are out on their ear and can do more damage to our island.
You’ll have to wait until the general Election. Local councillors have no power to stop the boats – but they can stop asylum hotels in their areas and the results nationwide may get rid of Starmer.
Don’t want to be TOO pedantic….but actually it’s BATED breath…..
Thank you for correcting me …
They couldn’t stop a bus at a bus stop yet alone stop a BOAT.
The numpties who fell for the Brexit £350 million a week
Ballsh*t fell for more Ballsh*t
Once a Numpty always a Numpty!
It’s Local Council elections! It’s about our Island. The only boats we are concerned about are the red funnel, wight link and kraken ferries
I was, of course, being sarcastic….
I know it was a local council election..
But before the election, a lot of reform supporters (and campaigners) were posting “vote reform to stop the boats & get starmer out”.. and themselves totally disregarded (or failed to understand) that this was a local council election…
So now the election is past, those that got voted in, have a couple of years to prove their incompetence, before they can start their chants of “stop the boats, & expell all foreigners” again and try to convince people that they actually have a clue about how to run a government….
So whomever the Leader of the IW Reform Group is (Reuben Loake will be the leader I suspect – he’s by far the youngest, has had a community facing role and has some experiance on the stage and public speaking) they have a straight choice between: –
Minority Lead (They’ll never pass a budget)
Commiting to repair Ventnor’s Roads – and thus making Ed Blake join with Matt Price forced along too
Taking the Island Independant Network out for a nice meal – And reminding them that Richard Tice has a girlfriend who owns property in Seaview – Which means Julia Hayward will submit to their whip.
At least some of the trash has been cleared out but i see bacon, love and a couple of the old mob have managed to keep their noses in the trough.
It is up to Reform to show us what they can do and hope the rest don’t gang up just to block them, it is a shame they missed being a majority by just one vote.
First they came for the communists……………
Then they will come for you and the sooner the better.
Sounds like you would have preferred it if Hitler had won the war…
Heil farage..
[…] 2026 ISLE OF WIGHT LOCAL ELECTIONS – FULL RESULTS […]
So, less than 50% voted in most of the areas – if you did not vote – please – do not ever moan about what is happening or not happening at the IW Council.
Your vote is a right and you should use it.
(or spoil it if there is no one you want to vote for)
People know these local elections are a waste of time.
Reuben Loake will be an absolute disaster. His most public role was throwing the mother of all tantrums at an awards ceremony a couple of years ago when he prematurely celebrated an award that went to someone else. Joke of a human.
Great to see Karl Love win East Cowes, they are lucky
to have such a great guy.
I would like to see the numbers for spoilt voting slips
