2 women have been led to safety this afternoon (Wednesday) after becoming cut off by the tide at Ryde.
Ryde Inshore Rescue were tasked to launch at around 12:25 following reports from Solent Coastguard that 2 persons had become cut off and were up against a fence to the west of Ryde Pier.
The pair were quickly located by the volunteer crew of Ryde Rescue 1 Lifeboat, but it was 2 local residents that came to the duo’s aid in the end by opening a locked gate.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team have given safety advice to the 2 women, who are understood to have been beach combing.
Emergency teams have since stood down.
