A 40-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a man in his 50s sustained a head injury at an address in Ventnor on Sunday evening.
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called at 23:38 on Sunday 9th April with reports of an assault at an address at a flat on Spring Hill in Ventnor.
A man in his 50s had sustained a head injury.
A cordon was erected at the scene on the residential road and remained in place until Monday evening, whilst Southern Vectis buses couldn’t get along the road on Monday morning as it was temporarily blocked.
As part of enquiries, a 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of cocaine, and a 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
Both have been bailed with conditions until 10th July while enquiries continue.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have said that enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the assault.

Drugs will be the cause, a complete joke that Ventnor refused ‘weedkiller’ yet the town is filled with harmful chemicals smoked, snorted, or injected into a high proportion of bodies daily, along with vast amounts of harmful alcohol and the real dangers to the innocent living there.
Problem being they ‘can’t’ sue themselves for such, YET; but can if another of their numerous scattered kids ends up squiffy from eating ‘council’ poison weeds.

This is a disgrace! I’ll have a chat with Donna and Scott from the club. About time we cleaned up the streets of Ventnor and arrested these litter louts. I feel a complaint going into the IPCC is in order.
