A member of the public has potentially saved the lives of 2 children after pulling them out of the sea at Ventnor Beach this evening (Sunday).
The incident began shortly before 18:45 when the youngsters got into difficulty off the shore at Ventnor.
Despite the rough seas, a member of the public rushed into the water to assist the duo and was able to pull them to safety.
Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team were quickly on scene and requested the assistance of the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Both children have been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for check ups.
