Police have arrested 2 men in their 50s following separate incidents within 4 hours of one another at a residential address in Ryde this morning (Thursday).
Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called to Arundel Close at 04:12 this morning following reports of a disturbance.
At the scene, officers arrested a 54-year-old man on suspicion of assaulting a woman occasioning her actual bodily harm, as well as a public order offence.
Police were then called at 08:53 to reports of a further assault at the same address and subsequently arrested a 53-year-old man on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Island Echo understands that Police conducted door-to-door inquiries on the cul-de-sac before leaving the scene just after lunch at around 12:30.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that both men remain in custody at this time.
At their age, you’d think they would know better. Why do some men think it’s ok to hit a woman? Actually it works both ways, some men are subjected to violence by their female partners. Physical violence is wrong, end of. Simple.
