A power cut is affecting over 1,800 homes and businesses in the Sandown area this morning (Wednesday).
The outage in the PO36 region was reported at just before 08:00.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks say they are aware of the fault and are sending engineers to assess the situation.
It is currently estimated that power will be restored to all 147 postcodes hit by the network fault at around 11:00.
Electricity has been lost in the central areas of the town, as well as in Yaverland and near the Morton area.
UPDATE @ 09:00 – Power has been restored to the majority of properties, but 286 customers across 29 postcodes are still without electricity this morning.
UPDATE – Power has now been restored to all properties.

And our eco warriors want us all to have electric cars, the grid cannot manage the day to day loads as it is never mind hundreds of cars chewing through the power.
Obviously not the grid. Obviously a local fault. Obviously.

They SSEN crew did a great job fixing it quickly but this is the second major outage hitting the same set of postcodes in just a few weeks.
