The sudden and tragic death of a 3-year-old girl from the Isle of Wight has led to over £11,500 in donations being pledged towards her funeral and a memorial.
Amilie was poorly in hospital when she suffered a sudden, unexpected cardiac arrest – from which she did not recover.
As the youngster’s family come to terms with what’s happened and think ahead to a funeral, Amilie’s mum, Megan Reynolds, has set up a GoFundMe page.
Speaking about the fundraiser, which has already generated £11,500 in donations against a target of £7,000, Megan has said:
“Although some of this [cost] is covered by the government which is so great, we would obviously love to be able to give our Bam the best funeral and memorial service we could.
“We would love to have a special place that is beautiful and personalised to her, to go and visit her and for her to be the happiest she could possibly be there”.
A date has not yet been set for the funeral as the family are awaiting the outcome of investigations being conducted at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London.
23-year-old Megan adds:
“That day was the most horrific, life shattering day of myself and my partners lives. Not only for us, but for everyone who knew and had met our baby girl,
“She was so incredibly special and unique, there wasn’t anybody like her. She was the funniest little thing ever”.
