The Vectis Historic Vehicle Club have this week handed over a cheque for £1,000 to Mountbatten Hospice.
The money was principally collected by keen members, dressed in Christmas-themed fancy dress, during the annual static show in St Thomas Square, Newport on 10th December.
Club Chairman Bill Rasmussen met with Nigel Hartley, CEO of Mountbatten, on Thursday and explained how members recognise the great work that Mountbatten does for the Island community in end-of-life care, as well as other health support categories.
Nigel thanked the members attending the presentation for the continued support of the club, which has contributed many thousands of pounds over the years.
Club President Peter Hodgson said that club members were very pleased to make this collection for a charity which has provided care to so many people on the Island, but still requires constant funding to carry on with that care in the future.
Classic vehicles at the presentation included an Aston Martin (Joe Kitney), a VW Pink and White Camper (Steve & Lil Downey), a Triumph Spitfire (Jon Baker), an MGB GT (Peter Hodgson), a Rover ~(Tim & Linda De Bues) and a Mini Countryman (Trish and Simon Boyle).
