A 1-year-old baby girl has been treated in hospital following an incident at a residential address in Newport, which has led to the arrest of a Freshwater man.
Police and paramedics were called to a property at Woodbine Close at 22:09 last night (Sunday) to reports that a young child had been injured.
Officers attended the scene and initial enquiries have led to a 36-year-old man from Freshwater being arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have remained at the property throughout the night with 2 forensic investigation units from the mainland called in to examine the scene. They arrived in Newport this afternoon.
Enquiries into the exact circumstances of this incident are at an early stage, Police say.
The 36-year-old suspect remains in custody at this time.
No details of the girl’s injuries have yet been released.
People being paid to breed is the problem as now, more and more ‘unsuitable’ have children for the lifestyle it gives ‘them’ not caring or loving the child.
Drugs, drink, or ‘mental health’ will ensure a short pathetic sentence to carry on their useless state funded breeding programme though.
Seriously, people should have to have a licence before having children – 5 simple qualifications 1) have a job 2) have own home 3) no substance abuse 4) eighteen and over 5) most importantly married and have to stay married until youngest child is 18.
This is not really the way forward I have no qualifications. But have a very good job. Rent my house private. Not married but been with my girlfriend 7 years. We have a 1 year old and she is the most important person in my life and would never do anything like this. Definitely don’t need qualifications to be a decent person.
