Police arrested a 23-year-old on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident outside a bar in Ryde last night (Saturday). Numerous Police units were seen responding to Esplanade near Ryde Superbowl and the Pavillion Bar at just before 23:00 on Saturday evening. A 23-year-old man from Wootton was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and obstructing/resisting a constable in the execution of his duty. Officers left the scene at around 23:30. The arrested male remains in custody at this time.

Maybe if there were security for the Beach party event this would not have happened – shocking putting a rave on pubic space with no thought to locals and tourist – disgraceful
The Big Beach Weekender event had 20 security staff on Leigh who were redeployed along the sea front once it had finished. There were no incidents of this nature at the event.
Do you really think the dance night on the beach was allowed or even wanted to go ahead without security?
There was security – but perhaps the organisers didn’t want to pay for more.
Rest assured, The Big Beach Weekender invested heavily on security (just under £10,000) and met all the guidelines that are recommended by the Purple Guide (the events industry “bible”) and imposed by the licensing and health and safety authorities. This incident was at an establishment that I won’t be so unprofessional to name, but it was not related to our event, which passed with no incidents of violence on any of the evenings I’m pleased to say. Whilst the majority of people attending the Big Beach were indeed local residents, we also have a good number of bookings from mainland postcodes as far away as Leeds. I hope this helps.
