The family of a woman who was tragically killed after being run over by a car in Newchurch earlier this week have paid tribute to her.
30-year-old Rachael Stratton died after being crushed between a Toyota Yaris and a fence on a driveway in Newchurch, as previously reported by Island Echo.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene alongside multiple fire engines and ambulance crews. Sadly, Rachael’s life could not be saved.
Rachael’s mother, Judith, has taken to Facebook to pay tribute. She describes her daughter as ‘irreplaceable and amazing’. Judith has said:
“We miss her so much but she has left us so many wonderful memories and her love of life will live on in us forever. Our beautiful sparkling star”.
Rachael was well known among local theatre and could often be seen on stage.
Police are investigating the full circumstances and enquiries remain ongoing at this time.
