A woman has freed herself from a rather sticky situation in Newtown this lunchtime (Friday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to Newtown Nature Reserve in the West Wight at 11:50 following reports of a female up to her thighs in mud.
Appliances from Newport, Freshwater and East Cowes were mobilised to the scene but the casualty had freed herself upon their arrival.
Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team were also tasked to the incident.
Emergency services have now stood down.
