22 Wight Tri members took part in the second of the Winter Duathlon Series from Cowes Green on Sunday (10th November).
In a run/bike/run format, competitors had a choice of 2.6km or 5.2km run along the seafront to Gurnard and back followed by a 20km or 27km bike section out to Porchfield and Shalfleet (long course), returning via Whitehouse Road. Weather conditions were perfect, dry and little wind.
The winter series is run as a nominated time event. Closest to nominated was Craig Wilson, 1m 12s out from his nominated time over the long course in 1:31:48. 2nd was Glyn Jenkins at 1m 32s out and 3rd was Steve Snary at 1m 49s out.
Fastest male over the long course was Chris Till in 1:24:38 and fastest female Jan Fletcher in 1:44:30.

The first event of the Winter Series was from St. Helen’s Duver on Sunday 27th October.
17 club members took part in warm conditions from the seafront involving either a 2.9km or 5.1km run around the Duver followed by at 13km or 17km bike out towards Culver and then a second run.
Closest to nominated was Daron Perkins just 7 seconds out over the long course in 1:30:53 followed Sean Williams (2m 28s out) and Jack Elton Walters (2m 30 s out) both over the long course. Sean was the fastest male over the long course and Janet Fletcher fastest female in 1:38:54.
