WightSAR – the Island’s volunteer search and rescue organisation – has been deployed to assist Police with the search for a missing person in Sandown this afternoon (Thursday).
An incident command point has been established at The Broadway Garage off Avenue Road, where several team members have gathered for a briefing.
Police are yet to issue an appeal for information so it is unknown who is being sought, or why.
It is thought the search has been ongoing for several hours with WightSAR initially put on standby at 14:30 before then being called out at 15:55.
UPDATE @ 18:45 – Police have confirmed they are searching for missing 32-year-old Charlotte Mullen from Sandown.
