wightkartingaerialRyde-based karting company, WightKarting, has announced that they have invested in expanding their fleet of karts specifically designed for the 12 – 15 year age group.

The 270cc bright orange karts have been designed by Sodi to specifically suit the junior age group and will guarantee that they have dedicated karts to match their skill level and add to the numbers of existing karts to enable WightKarting to create junior race events.

For this customer age group the eight new karts are speed restricted to 30mph and come with adjustable seats and pedals to suit a wide range of heights. They have fully ergonomic racing steering wheels, bucket seats and full wrap around bumper protection, ensuring that all drivers get the full race experience whilst still being safe.

WightKarting are dedicated to ensuring the safety of all of their drivers, across every age range, and therefore the new karts will also come fully equipped to work with the current DeHaart System that the track has in place, so that WightKarting’s track marshals can slow, or stop, karts on the track as a safety measure if required.

The karts are also fully adaptable, meaning that, during the busy seasons, WightKarting can change the karts to run at the speed of the full adult karts and so they will offer wider scope for junior and adult parties and business days and also naturally increase competition on the track, resulting in more exhilarating race days and faster track times.

The eight new karts mark another expansion for WightKarting, following the significant investment in the shade canopy earlier this year.

Cathy Foulkes, owner of WightKarting, said:

“We have invested in eight new karts, which will expand our offering or those aged 12 to 15. We’re hoping that it will increase the interest of drivers in that age range and help to give them a better karting experience than they have had here before. The karts have been designed to be as exciting for the younger age range as possible whilst still being safe so that parents don’t need to worry!”
