Island Line services on the Isle of Wight will face almost a month of disruption this Autumn, with the entire railway closing for more than 2 weeks as engineering works get underway.
The railway will be affected by planned engineering works from Saturday 31st October through to Sunday 29th November, with closures and replacement bus services operating at various stages.
From Saturday 31st October until Sunday 15th November, the entire Island Line will be closed, with no trains running between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin.
During this period, shuttle buses will operate between Ryde Pier Head and Ryde Esplanade, while replacement buses will run between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin.
From Monday 16th November until Saturday 28th November, the closure will be reduced to the section between Ryde Pier Head and Ryde St Johns Road.
Shuttle buses will operate between these 2 stations during this period.
However, the entire line will close again on Sunday 29th November, with replacement transport operating between Ryde Pier Head and Shanklin.
Shuttle buses will run between Ryde Pier Head and Ryde Esplanade, with buses connecting Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin.
The planned works will affect Island Line services across 30 consecutive days, although the extent of the closures will vary throughout November.
