The weekend is set to be a washout with a yellow weather warning now issued for heavy rain across the Isle of Wight.
Local forecasters IW Met Service say that an Atlantic low pushing in from the South West will temporarily introduce some warm air which will trigger spells of very heavy rainfall.
Saturday afternoon and into the evening will see spells of rain which may be heavy and persistent at times. Up to 15mm of rain may fall during this period and this is likely to cause some minor flooding in the usual prone locations, as well as lots of surface water on the roads.
A further spell of heavy rainfall will arrive on Sunday morning which is also likely to give some minor flooding in places and once again there will be a lot of surface water and spray on the roads. A further 10-15mm of rain could fall during this second spell.
Through Sunday afternoon the wind will become quite gusty for a time before the rain clears away and this may temporarily give some even worse driving conditions before things start to settle down.
The weather warning is in force from 10:00 tomorrow until 22:00 on Sunday.
