Residents in an area of Cowes are without water this morning (Wednesday).
Several Island Echo readers in the Baring Road, Crossfield Avenue and Ward Avenue area have reported having no running water. Others have said that contacting the Southern Water help line has been extremely difficult.
Southern Water engineers are currently investigating the issue. It is unclear as to when it will be resolved.

Not surprised considering from just after 11pm for at least 2½ hours there was a hydrant being released by a large hose straight into a drain on my road. They must have dumped hundreds & thousands of litres straight down the drain.
Southern water say we the customers waste water! They could’ve forewarned people locally & they could’ve filled buckets or watering cans for plants. Could’ve done it earlier but no, they do it that late hoping nobody notices, well not all down this road go to sleep by 11 thank you! Wasteful.
Had 2 men turn up at 3.35AM in a truck and van. Engine left running; doors slamming. Said they were from Southern Water and did the works overnight to limit disruption. I didn’t get back to sleep
